The “BARN-RAISER” Project

A perpetual fundraiser to preserve, restore and sustain the viability of this historic structure

This turn-of-the-century barn looked to be no more than a fallen-down ramshackle, but what we found inside led to a remarkable discovery.

Within months of purchasing the 26 acres that this eyesore rests on, we were determined to discover its secrets. We began sifting through dirt-covered mounds and piles of haphazard wood, laden with caked-on dust and grime. Several weeks in and several feet under the filtering through decades of debris, I started to wonder, “what had we gotten ourselves into”?

“RE-LIVING” A DREAM

The appeal of restoring something that had seen so many milestones in life throughout its existence is what keeps us going. I’ve always been rather fascinated by time-worn architecture and old-world charm. And so it happened that when other people looked at the brokeness of it, all they saw was a hopeless tear-down, but what I saw was immense potential. What I felt was that this place deserved the right to be given a second chance, a new life.
